Domestic violence: Tim Bendzko’s shocking confession moves everyone to tears

Tim Bendzko is actually known for feel-good songs like “Nur kurz die Welt retten”, but in the current, sixth episode of the exchange concert, the singer appears emotional and thoughtful. The evening is dedicated to rapper and Blockbustaz star Eko Fresh, and the other guests are allowed to interpret his songs. When it is Bendzko’s turn, no one expects that tears will soon flow.

The song that Bendzko chose has a profound message: “Stronger than violence” draws attention to violence against women. When Bendzko explains why he wants to perform this melancholy song, he tells the group his own sad story. As ProSieben reports, Tim Bendzko has experienced violence himself:

During the first third of my childhood, I grew up in an environment where I had to experience this a little too much.

The 39-year-old knows what it feels like to not know what to do next:

That’s why I can empathize a little bit with what this feeling of powerlessness and hopelessness and hopelessness is like.

The singer’s confession moves everyone to tears. His greatest passion helped him to come to terms with the past. “Sometimes music has to be uncomfortable”says Bendzko.

Tim Bendzko talks about domestic violence: His mother was his salvation

The singer does not give any details about the crime, but he reveals who rescued him from the terrible situation.

I can also say at this point that I am incredibly grateful to my mother for managing to get my brother and me out of there. Otherwise I wouldn’t be sitting here today and being such a happy guy.

Bendzko’s performance gives everyone goosebumps and brings tears to the other candidates’ eyes. One colleague in particular is particularly moved. Juli front singer Eva Briegel finds emotional words:

I saw Tim standing there and I not seen as a grown man, but in my mind’s eye he was always a little boy. I could cry again now when I think about it. It really touched me. Streaming & TV broadcast: This is how you can watch Sing meinen Song – Das Tauschkonzert
