Australia’s most decorated Olympic athlete, swimming star Emma McKeon has announced that he is ending his racing career. He tells about it In an Instagram update.

The now 30-year-old swimmer says that swimming has given him so much. He says he already knew before the Summer Games in Paris that they would be his last Olympics.

– The months that have passed since then have given me time to reflect on my journey and think about what I would like my swimming future to look like, he continued in his update.

– I am proud of myself that I gave absolutely everything to my swimming career, both physically and mentally. I wanted to see what I could do – and I did.

The Australian Olympic Committee praised McKeon for being an integral part of the Australian swimming scene for more than a decade.

In his career, McKeon achieved a total of six gold medals, three silver and five bronze medals in three Olympics.
