Emirates bans pagers and walkie-talkies on Dubai flights after Lebanon blasts | News in brief

The Emirates company operates fewer and fewer routes in the Middle East due to the weak security situation.

Emirates airline bans paging devices and walkie-talkies in hand luggage and checked baggage on its Dubai routes.

The reason is the explosions of communication devices used by members of the Hezbollah organization in Lebanon last month. Iran-backed Hezbollah blames Israel for the attack.

According to the airline, the Dubai Airport Police has the right to confiscate the prohibited devices.

The Middle East’s largest airline also announced that flights to Iraq and Iran have been canceled until Tuesday, and flights to Lebanon until the middle of the month.

Jordan’s canceled flights will resume tomorrow.
