The Festival d’Avignon opens its doors wide to artists from all over the world. milie monnet is one of the aboriginal peoples of canada. With her play “Marguerite: le feu” she goes back two centuries to tell the story of Marguerite Duplessis, an Aboriginal heroine and the first enslaved person to dare to claim her rights in the court of Quebec. On stage, they are four women, including the director, who interprets the role of Marguerite in a performance that combines song, dance and theatre.
