Emilia Clarke thought she would be fired from Game of

For Emilia Clarke, her role as Daenery Targaryen in Game of Thrones was her absolute breakthrough. However, filming the fantasy series was not all rosy for the actress. She has often spoken about difficult conditions on set. As she now revealed in an interview, one thing in particular bothered her: Your Health.

Emilia Clarke suffered a dangerous aneurysm before Game of Thrones Season 2

In an interview with Big Issue, the Khaleesi actress spoke in detail about the brain aneurysm she suffered in 2011. Emilia Clarke had just finished filming the first season of Game of Thrones at the time and was waiting to return to the fantasy series for season 2. However, the return was fraught with fears due to her health:

When you have a brain injury, it changes the way you perceive yourself so dramatically, all the insecurities you have in a workplace quadruple overnight. The first fear I had was: ‘Oh my god, am I getting fired? Are they going to fire me because they think I can’t do the job anymore?’

At the same time, Clarke was worried that the same fate might befall her again on set. She consoled herself with one thought: “Well, if I die, it’s better to die live on TV.”

Emilia Clarke remained Daenerys Targaryen until the Game of Thrones finale

In fact, the actress suffered another aneurysm in 2013, which was followed by a second dangerous operation. Even though Clarke suffered permanent damage, it ultimately did not jeopardize her role in the hit series. Clarke played Daenerys Targaryen until the very last Game of Thrones episode.
