Emil Nykvist has had the best year of his career as a biathlon.
But after the European Championship bronze and a record result in the World Cup, he is considering changing sports, at least temporarily.
– I haven’t decided yet how to do it, he tells the site Langd.se.

– I haven’t decided yet how to do it. But what would be interesting is to see and learn about what it is. I have a lot of friends going long. Me and Gabriel Strid have been childhood friends since ancient times. He admits that it has inspired him to see Stina Nilsson compete in long races during the year – she has now won three straight races in Ski Classics. But he is not quite ready to give up biathlon to switch to long -distance races.
– Both yes and no I would say. But at the same time, shooting is my strongest side. I have the better hit percentage than I am a skier so I should stick to biathlon it looks like, he says.
Emil is praised girlfriend Stina
They have gone a lot about each other because they competed in different sports, so they have not been seen as much as they wanted. She lives a slightly different life compared to him, something that may change in the future if he also switches to long races.
Now Emil Stina praises her success this winter.
– It’s sickly impressive. This is what makes you see that everything is possible. It is terribly impressive. She shows that she is the best in the world again, he notes.
