The Inspectorate for Care and Care (Ivo) inspected Sweden’s 27 emergency hospitals last year. Today, the authority’s report is presented. All regions have a shortage or a major shortage of healthcare personnel, and no improvement is seen in the coming years.
The lack of staff in turn leads to a lack of care places, which can lead to patient safety being compromised. During notified and unannounced inspections of the hospitals, Ivo has found deficiencies in 26 of the hospitals.
