The emergency hospital was set up to receive the victims. This is a stand-by hospital that can be operational within 30 minutes if necessary to accommodate larger numbers of patients in the event of an emergency. The building in the basement of the UMC Utrecht includes a hundred beds, twelve intensive care places, four isolation boxes and three operating rooms.
