Chest pain, dizziness, bleeding… What are the symptoms you should never ignore when it comes to health? Dr Gérald Kierzek reveals them to us and if this happens to you, don’t hesitate any longer and dial 15 immediately!
We all know someone who tends to downplay their symptoms when they are sick. If for a cold or a slight cut it is not very serious, in certain cases on the other hand it is necessary to notify the 15th or to go immediately to the emergency room. Here are the ones, according to Dr. Gérald Kierzek.
Respiratory and cardiac symptoms
“In the event of severe or sudden breathing difficulties, chest pain or a feeling of tightness in the chest, not forgetting abnormal heart palpitations: you must call Samu-Centre 15” indicates Dr. Gérald Kierzek, emergency physician and medical director of Doctissimo. “These symptoms may signal a serious heart or respiratory problem requiring immediate attention.”
Neurological symptoms
If you feel “sudden dizziness accompanied by weakness or visual disturbances, mental confusion or a sudden change in your behavior, sudden difficulty walking or speaking or loss of consciousness, once again, you must not waste a minute to prevent these relief“. Indeed, “these signs may indicate a Stroke or other urgent neurological problem” insists Gérald Kierzek.
Severe pain
“Symptoms such as intense and sudden pain, regardless of its location, but also severe abdominal pain that does not respond to analgesics can signal various emergencies such as a appendicitisa intestinal obstruction…” explains our expert again. These are signs that should not be ignored; you should consult a doctor immediately.
Heavy bleeding
“If the bleeding does not stop after 10 minutes of compression, if you expectorate or vomit blood“, you have to go to the emergency room.
A severe allergic reaction
Signs of this type of reaction are “sudden swelling of the mouth, lips or tongue, difficulty breathing or a generalized allergic reaction, with widespread hives, swelling, or even feeling unwell” describes our specialist. “A severe allergic reaction can progress to anaphylactic shock potentially fatal, call 15 immediately.
The other warning signs cited by Gérald Kierzek are, finally, “severe and persistent vomitingwithout forgetting the “suicidal thoughts” who must, once again, have you consulted urgently, without delay.
