Elvira Öberg once again showed world-class skiing in the sprint.
But the shooting was weak.
– It was both annoying and frustrating, says Öberg to SVT.
In Wednesday’s relay was Elvira Öberg best in the Swedish team that finished in second place. Elvira took Sweden from fifth place to first place, which Hanna Öberg unfortunately lost to Norway after several misses in the last shot.
Öberg’s shooting
When it was time for the sprint on Friday, expectations were high for the Öberg sisters, and perhaps the highest for Elvira. And once again, the 24-year-old proved that she is one of the best biathletes in the world at skiing and performing on the track.

In the shooting, however, things did not go all the way for Elvira. There were a total of three misses (one lying down and two standing up) and thus three penalty rounds. Öberg’s skiing saved her to an okay position, just 36 seconds behind first place Lou Jeanmonnot despite her three booms. But there was a dissatisfied Elvira Öberg after the sprint.
– I think I’m a little disturbed by the fact that I miss the fourth shot. Then it’s like I get a little distracted or something. Then I do a bad job on the fifth too. I’m really unhappy with that, because I’m losing from being in the lead to barely being in the top ten, she says to SVT.
Elvira’s anger
The 24-year-old was also angry that the other riders did not take her speed into account.
– I have been irritated today. It gets frustrating. It was above all on the last lap when I feel that I have significantly higher speed than everyone else and then you shout and shout and shout and shout and then the road in front of you is full.

In biathlon, there is a rule that you move if a faster skier comes behind. Elvira did not feel that that rule was followed in the sprint.
– The out of track rule does not always work correctly. Damn I got to be annoyed with people today. If you shout, they should move and they haven’t done that today, says Öberg.
