Norwegian superstar Tiril Eckhoff has been plagued by sleep problems during the pre-season.
And now accused of showing fake pictures on Instagram, which makes Swedish Elvira Öberg react strongly.

She is one of biathlon’s true greats and Tiril Eckhoff can proudly display 9 WC gold medals from his career. But when the Norwegian national biathlon team gathered for training camp recently, the 32-year-old was completely missing.

The reason was that Eckhoff suffered from sleep problems and felt tired. But despite her troubles, the Norwegian still chose to post fake and edited training photos on Instagram to her followers during the tough time.
– Why would I write “here I lie and cry because I don’t get any sleep”?, said the big star to Norwegian TV2 about the highlighted images.

Now the Swedish competitor answers Elvira Öberg that it is sad if the Norwegian feels compelled to show a fake reality on Instagram.
– I don’t know exactly how it’s been for Tiril, but sometimes it can feel easier to keep your problems to yourself, but it’s a shame if it has to be that way. It may feel easier to post pictures where everything looks good, even though it is not always the reality. I can understand her, but it is a great pity that it has to be like this, she tells SportExpressen.

Elvira Öberg’s words
Öberg roars at how wrong this is, but she is also unsure how she herself would have handled the situation in the same situation.

– I still think it’s important that you can talk about the fact that it’s not always Instagram-friendly. Instagram is the kind of place where you rarely see when you’re having a tougher time. It’s difficult, you’re not exactly as eager to share something that isn’t funny and maybe a nice picture. But I still think she does well and talks about it, she says to the evening newspaper.
