Elve, 12, fell through the ice – pulled up by the hero dog Cáppis

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Cáppis is this year’s performance dog after a dramatic history to say the least.

The hero dog rescued Alve, 12, from an ice cave.

It was when Alve and his mother Camilla Eklund Engvall were going to cross the ice with each dog team in Mossaträsk in Örnsköldsvik municipality that the ice broke and Alve went into the freezing water.

In Sverigesvepet, his mother Camilla and Alve tell about the rescue:

– It was amazing to see. Cáppis pulls himself, a sled and Elve out of the wake. The tears just flowed, says Camilla.
