In the complaint petition of the case filed in the San Francisco Court, it was claimed that Altman and OpenAI Co-Founder Greg Brockman contacted Musk in 2015 and agreed to establish a non-profit laboratory that would develop artificial intelligence “for the benefit of humanity”.
In the complaint petition, it was stated that Musk, the co-founder of OpenAI, resigned from the company’s board of directors in 2018, but continued to contribute to OpenAI based on the founding agreement and receive updates about the company from Altman.
“IT HAS BECOME A SUBSIDIARY COMPANY OF MICROSOFT”
The petition claimed that OpenAI stated on its website that its contract was “to ensure that artificial intelligence is beneficial to all humanity”, but in fact OpenAI was made a subsidiary of Microsoft, the world’s largest technology company.
The petition emphasized that the company developed artificial intelligence to maximize Microsoft’s profits rather than for the benefit of humanity, and noted that OpenAI’s focus on maximizing Microsoft’s profits violated the agreement. (AA)
