Shortly after the restart, a leading group of thirteen riders formed, including the Dutch Maikel Zijlaard, Bert-Jan Lindeman, Bram Dissel, Tim Marsman, Axel van der Tuuk and Elmar Reinders. They took a lead of half a minute on the peloton, where Allinq and ABLOC had to chase.
