Hundreds of victims per year due to apping road users

About 600 Dutch people a year are hit by road users who are on their phones. This has been calculated by SWOV (Dutch Foundation for Scientific Research on Road Safety). In many cases, the accident occurs because the driver is distracted or pays too little attention to the traffic.

Despite the fact that the Public Prosecution Service is increasingly demanding higher penalties for these types of accidents, more than 70 percent of road users still use their telephones in traffic.
