Elizabeth II, a real photo novel

Elizabeth II a real photo novel

Today, Jean-François Cadet receives the historian Guillaume Picon for “The Queen, Elisabeth II an exceptional destiny”. A beautiful book that looks back in pictures on the 70 years of reign of the queen. Then, the young Belgian designer Clara Lodewick comes to present her first graphic novel “Merel” published by Dupuis in the collection “Les Ondes Marcinelle”.

Today in VMDN, two very different women, told by the arts of the image:

One has been at the center of the news since her death a week ago, it is obviously Queen Elisabeth, whose portraits of all kinds tell more than 70 years of history. Photographs from the “Press Association”, an English agency founded 150 years ago, Guillaume Picon published a book with Glénat editions, entitled “The Queen, Elisabeth II an exceptional destiny”.

The other woman is far from the pomp and responsibilities of a monarch. Her name is Merel, raises ducks in the Flemish countryside. It is not a crowned head, but an everyday heroine who gives her name to the first comic book album of Clara Lodewick, a young and promising Belgian author. His album is published by Dupuis in the new collection “Les Ondes Marcinelle”.

Reportage : This summer, “Platform 10”, a complex bringing together museums of fine arts, photography and design, opened in Lausanne. And for their first exhibitions, these three museums took an interest in the train through the history of art. Report in Switzerland signed Antoine Pequeur.
