Elin, 14, a hair’s breadth away from death – when the tree falls

When Elin Tyskhagen, 14, was out riding when a tree suddenly fell in front of her and the pony Smokie.
They were a few millimeters away from meeting – and everything was caught on film:

When 14-year-old Elin Tyskhagen was out galloping with the pony Smokie, something unexpected suddenly happened. A tree falls right in front of them – and they’re a hair’s breadth away from hitting each other.

– At first I didn’t understand what happened when the tree fell down. I only understood it when he jumped over the tree, she tells Efter fem.

The pony’s icy reaction

The pony Smokie took the near-death experience in stride. In the video, he is seen simply jumping over the tree that just landed in front of them, without reacting.

– He is incredibly kind and cool, says Elin and continues:

– He is so used to competitions and movement. I think he’s quite used to things happening around.

Has gone viral

The whole incident was caught on film by the mother Jessica, and the clip has been widely circulated on social media. Today, Elin feels mostly gratitude and relief that everything did not end with her or the pony dying or being injured.
