It has been a turbulent season for Elias Pettersson and Vancouver Canucks.
Now the Swede breaks the silence of the tough time he has experienced in Canada this year.
– It’s not been the best. A lot of noise, I was saying, in the media, he says according to Sportbladet.
Before this NHL season had Elias Pettersson26, been red hot for more or less two years and accounted for a total of 191 points. It had been a cannon for Vancouver Canucks who made it to the quarterfinals last year. But then something happened. This season has been a big failure, both for the club and for Pettersson.
The Swede, who sits on a relatively newly written contract worth SEK 1 billion distributed in eight years, has not delivered at the level that we all come to be used to seeing. That it flared up a conflict between Elias Pettersson and the American star JT Miller Has also not been completely optimal.
– I felt for a long time that there was a solution because everyone has worked on it, including those involved. But it only resolves for a short while and then it flares up again, said the Vancouver President Jim Rutherford recently.

Later it was clear that the club’s Swedish general manager Patrik Allvin Threw away Miller to the New York Rangers. Now the team suddenly has three straight wins and goes to the Four Nations Breake with happier mines.
– When you do not have chemistry, it is difficult to be consistent as a team. There is too much going on for everyone to concentrate on what they should, said Jim Rutherford.
Now Elias Pettersson is talking about the tough period that has been this season. He has had tremendous pressure on him considering his crazy contract, and he himself feels that he has not been able to reach his usual level. Last summer, he deleted his social media to avoid seeing negative comments and hatred.
– It has not been the best (season, reds.anm.). A lot of noise, I was saying, in the media. But I’m just trying to control what I can. It has been a lot, but the best thing I have done is to delete social media. Then it is difficult to read something. It was a lot for a while. You know for yourself what it says, so he tells the overall press according to Sportbladet.
At the same time, he does not want people to feel sorry for him. He says it’s no more pity for him than anyone else.
– We should not sit here and make me a victim of social media. It has been nice for me to focus on hockey, but it’s not that I have been hit worse than anyone else, he says.

He admits that the improved agreement initially pushed him. No wonder when you cost the club more than SEK 1 billion. It has been tough for him mentally.
– Yes, but of course it will be. Now I have received a contract that I am very pleased with. But that said, the press will push on one. I myself do not think I have lived up to it to the fullest. But what I have done before is done and I just try to see what is in front of me. I know what hockey I have in me, he says.
