Elias Pettersson has had to endure harsh criticism.
Now his agent is hitting back at the speculation.
– I think it is quite obvious, says JP Barry in an interview.
The Vancouver Canucks entered the Stanley Cup Playoffs with high hopes of going far. But in the second round, there was an outing against the Edmonton Oilers and one player who has received criticism for the team’s effort is the Swedish star Elias Pettersson.
Rumors about Elias
He only managed to deliver five assists and a single goal in the 13 playoff games and speculation has been rife as to why he has been so pale. At the closing press conference, Pettersson then revealed that he played on despite a lingering knee injury.
– It has been a persistent injury so the longer it went on the more pain I felt, he informed everyone.

But the speculation didn’t end there, but took on new momentum instead. First, the Canucks were accused of not taking care of the injury in a better way and still letting Elias play on.
Now striking back
The Canadiens also sent new criticism towards the Swedish NHL star after a rumor emerged that Pettersson covered up his injury for the club. Now Elias’ agent steps up JP Barry out in the media and hit back with full force after all the claims.

As he doesn’t appreciate the smearing at all and now has to explain the situation.
– Sometimes it can be that the club staff know about injuries that the players have, but it is not at the level that they see a doctor every day. I know he was examined before the playoffs, but I don’t think he ever felt during the playoffs that it was something serious enough that he wouldn’t be able to play, he says on the youtube program “Donnie & Dhali”, see the video below.

Elias Pettersson’s agent says that it is a difficult line to draw with the Swede’s injury in the playoffs.
– It is a fine line. He’s honest that he wasn’t 100 percent, but he doesn’t use that as an excuse either. We just have to listen to what he says. It’s clear from the look on his face that he’s disappointed and feels he could have played better, so I think he will, JP Barry admits in the interview, watch it below.
