Elfsborg crushed Djurgården – moves to the top

Alexander Bernhardsson broke the deadlock at Tele2 Arena after just three minutes. Just over a quarter of an hour later, Jeppe Okkels extended the score to 2–0 from the penalty spot and just before the half-time break, the same Okkels became the two-goal scorer when he completed a pattern attack to make it 3–0.

Djurgården, which came to the match with three consecutive Allsvenskan victories, was in shock.

— There is a lot that is not right. We lose duels and now we have to come out as a completely new team, noted Oliver Berg after the first half in Discovery.

But there was no direct reaction. Djurgården had difficulty creating goal chances and instead it was Elfsborg who forced in 4-0 through Sveinn Aron Gudjohnsen after carelessness from the home defense and above all from Jacob Une Larsson.

With the big victory, Elfsborg moves to the top of the Allsvenskan. The team tops the table on 39 points, four down to Häcken, who play against Värnamo later this evening.

Djurgården, which has one game more played, is still four, nine points behind the league leader.
