After eleven robberies at ATMs in Malmö that took place in a similar way, the police suspect that the same perpetrators are behind it. During the robberies, one or more people reach out to the person who takes out money and behaves threateningly.
– It is a somewhat special approach where people have been threatened with harassment. And requires you to give away codes. They usually start with Swish. But when you reach the barrier, the account is emptied instead, says Kerstin Gossé at Malmö Police to Sydsvenskan.
The robberies were most often carried out by a man and a woman in their 25s and 30s, but in some cases both perpetrators were men.
The first two robberies are said to have taken place in Limhamn on July 9, after which the robbers struck in central Malmö, mostly in the evening. No one has been arrested for the robberies.
