In Mali, eleven opposition political leaders have been detained for more than two months. These former ministers and party leaders, members of the “March 31 Declaration” which calls for a return to constitutional order in Mali, were arrested on June 20. They are charged in particular with “opposition to the exercise of legitimate authority”. In recent weeks, the judicial procedure has made progress. Mediation attempts are also underway to try to obtain their release.
