Electricity subsidies caused a deficit in the treasury

Lower tax revenues and electricity subsidy payments explain the forecast miss, according to a press release.

Tax revenues were approximately SEK 6 billion lower than in the National Debt Office’s forecast. At the same time, lending to authorities was SEK 8.6 billion higher than forecast.

“This is mainly due to the transfer of SEK 10 billion from Svenska kraftnät’s account to the primary balance regarding payments of electricity subsidies to companies,” writes the National Debt Office.
