Electric cars China starts dispute at WTO over EU duties

(Finance) – The China he started a dispute in front of the World Trade Organization towards theEuropean Union on provisional duties imposed by Brussels on the import of car electric Chinese as part of the ongoing investigation into alleged illegal subsidies by Beijing. In particular, the WTO said that China “maintains that the measures in question appear to be incompatible with theArticle VI of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade of 1994 and with various provisions of the WTO Agreement on Subsidies and Countervailing Measures”.

The procedure begins with the request for consultations which formally initiates a dispute within the WTO. If after 60 days the parties do not find a satisfactory solution by mutual agreement, the complainant may request the decision of a college.
