(Finance) – In the last quarter of the year the Chinese BYD he passed it Tesla in terms of deliveries. The Californian company has in fact delivered 484,000 cars in the last 3 months of 2023, exceeding analysts’ expectations but failing to match the 526,000 cars delivered by BYD. The overtaking was long overdue, confirming China’s rise in the global automotive industry. There is also one of BYD’s foreign admirers Warren Buffett which in 2008 invested 230 million dollars to acquire 10% of the company. A more than profitable investment given that last year Berkshire Hathaway’s stake in the Chinese manufacturer was worth 8 billion.
