Unveiled last October, VanMoof’s first high-speed electric bike will be available at the end of 2022. The Dutch brand announces that it has registered 10,000 pre-orders for its VanMoof V at 3,498 euros.

The manufacturer points out that Germany alone accounts for a third of reservations, followed by the United States and the Netherlands.

A new feature added to the VanMoof V

Sold for 3,498 euros, the VanMoof V is designed on the basis of a frame in aluminum, with two motors housed in the hubs, an automatic transmission, front and rear suspensions and a 700 Wh battery. We will find the typical VanMoof functions, such as the Kick Lock keyless unlocking, the integrated anti-theft device and the Turbo Boost button which provides instant acceleration.

This speed bike will be connected via a application mobile that centralizes all the information and possible settings. To mark the announcement of 10,000 pre-orders, the manufacturer has announced that the VanMoof V will be equipped with a phone holder integrated into the handlebars, more precisely at the level of the stem.

The maximum speed of the VanMoof V will be adapted according to the legislation of the countries where it will be distributed. In France, a speed bike must not exceed 45 km/h, be registered, insured and cannot use cycle paths. In addition, its driver must have an AM license and wear an approved helmet.
