The polling stations have closed in Moldova, where voting took place today in the second round of the presidential election.
The pro-EU sitting president is facing off in the election Maia Sandu and supported by the pro-Russian Socialist Party Alexander Stoianoglo. The first partial results are still expected this evening.
In the first round held two weeks ago, Sandu was the most popular candidate with 42 percent. Stoianoglo, who got the second most votes, reached 26 percent.
