Stéphane Séjourné was elected as a deputy in Hauts-de-Seine, without a hitch. The minister won by a wide margin against the NFP.
There was no doubt about it. In a constituency that was historically right-wing and in a department where Renaissance had reached an agreement with Les Républicains, Stéphane Séjourné was widely elected as MP for the 9th constituency of Hauts-de-Seine. The division only concerns the commune of Boulogne-Billancourt. The former Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs obtained 72.63% of the votes and thus won his first election. He was facing Pauline Rapilly-Ferniot, invested by the New Popular Front.
Stéphane Séjourné had presented himself with the support of the LR mayor of Boulogne-Billancourt, Pierre-Christophe Baguet. In the profession of faith, the two parties had announced that they would join forces “against the extremes who are colluding to take power”. Citing the intensification of “economic competition” and “the war returning to our continent”, “our country will not be able to face these upheavals without political action resolutely focused on tomorrow”.
