Today he will testify for the first time in his own trial.
Protesters have gathered outside the court in Tel Aviv. Images from the scene show people waving flags and holding up fake mugshots of the prime minister.
The corruption case against Netanyahu has been ongoing since 2020. Among other things, he is accused of receiving luxury gifts such as champagne, expensive cigars, designer clothes and jewelry in exchange for tax breaks for his wealthy friends.
He is also suspected of pushing political issues that benefited a major media company in Israel in order to receive flattering reporting.
He is the first sitting Prime Minister of Israel to be charged with a crime.

This is what the new driver’s license looks like
It’s been more than eight years since the last time, now it’s time again.
The Swedish driving license gets a new look.
The new driver’s licenses are expected to go into production in January 2025 and look different in many ways compared to the predecessor that millions of Swedes have in their wallets.
– Perhaps the clearest difference is that the part that alternates between image and social security number is in the transparent window, says Peter Andersson, business developer within driving licenses at the Swedish Transport Agency.
Alongside the change in appearance, the new driver’s license also has a number of new safety features.
– It’s basically about making counterfeiting more difficult.
Those who have an old-looking driver’s license do not need to do anything. They continue to apply until the expiry date, says Andersson.

“More interest rate cuts are needed”
The Swedish economy continues to perform poorly. Household consumption is decreasing, new statistics show.

The decline was unexpected. Economists on average had expected a rise of 0.2 percent, according to Bloomberg’s compilation of forecasts.
And in September, GDP fell by a downwardly revised 1.5 percent compared to the previous month.
Weak development for consumption
Torbjörn Isaksson at Nordea warns against making too big of a fuss about the figures, as they are monthly results that are regularly revised a lot.
But he notes that household consumption continues to be sluggish and that there is economic stagnation and Show more

There are delays and canceled departures in the shuttle service from Stockholm’s southern station.
It is due to a vehicle failure, where a broken commuter train is at a standstill.
– Therefore, we have some logistical problems. Pay attention to signs and the staff’s calls, says Helene Jakobsson at SL.
The delays apply to lines 40, 41, 42, 43 and 44 and there is no forecast for when the commuter trains will run as usual again.
On some trains, the wrong “next” station is also announced, due to a technical error. SL therefore recommends travelers to look out at the stations they pass.
