Around two o’clock at night in early May this year, the police were alerted to an address in Helsingborg after a neighbor heard a bang and saw flashlights in a house next door.
When the police patrol entered the house, they were met by the fact that things were everywhere and that someone was rooting around. They then heard noises and when they entered one of the rooms they found a man, wearing only underpants, lying taped around his hands, feet and mouth.
Hidden in the living room
The man pointed with his hands away towards the living room and the police went further in there. There they saw a man hiding behind the sofa and another under a table.
Both men were arrested at the scene. In one of the man’s pockets, the police found a gold necklace and a ring.
The older man has told in interrogation that he was asleep when he heard a bang as if a window had broken. He went up and in a mirror in the hall he saw someone and then he was broken down, taped and scratched with a sharp object.
“Felt helpless”
One of the robbers is said to have asked for money and threatened to die if he did not give them money. The other man was rooting around at the same time. Both men were masked.
During questioning, the victim said:
“When I was tied up in the back, my thoughts began to grow. I thought “how is this going to end?”. I felt helpless ”.
Two men, aged 27 and 31, are now being prosecuted at Helsingborg District Court for aggravated robbery.
As evidence, there is, among other things, a hammer head that they are said to have smashed the window with, a body camera that the police had during the arrest and a court certificate for the victim’s injuries.
The men are also charged with minor drug offenses for being under the influence at the time. Both deny the crime.
