Fourth suspect sought in violent home invasion Sarnia police

Sarnia police say an elderly man was taken to hospital after he and his wife were attacked during a home invasion early Saturday morning on Earlscourt Drive.

The couple was asleep in their home in the 700 block of Earlscourt Drive at about 2 am when they were “awoken by a lone male suspect brandishing an edged weapon, demanding property from them,” police said.

“The suspect attacked the male using the weapon causing lacerations to the victim’s head.”

The suspect then fled and is believed to have traveled north, police said.

The elderly victim was taken to Bluewater Health and treated for injuries police said were not life-threatening.

Police are asking residents of the area who have home surveillance systems to contact police headquarters by calling 519-344-8861, ext. 5300.

In particular, police said they are looking for surveillance images from Earlscourt Drive, Exmouth Street – between Indian Road and Kember Avenue – Eastlawn Avenue, Kember Avenue and Rogers Street.
