According to the police, there are unclear circumstances surrounding what happened. The scene was therefore cordoned off and a preliminary investigation into suspected murder has been launched. Police technicians are now ready on site, and the preliminary investigation continues.
– An autopsy is pending, so we need to see if it can provide any answers, says Anders Dahlman, press spokesman for the Bergslagen police region.
Dahlman says that it may be necessary to proceed with investigative measures such as talking to relatives and knocking on doors in the area where the man was found.
– After all the technical investigations are completed, they will be compiled. It will take some time before we get answers about what has happened, says Dahlman.
The man was in his 80s, and his next of kin have been notified.
