After the first gameplay footage of Elden Ring that has been mouthing water for many fans, it’s time for beta. From Software wishes to test the capacities of its servers and invites a few lucky ones to join the adventure in the middle of November.

Elden Ring, this is the name of the studio’s next release, is scheduled for February 2022. A wait that may be long in view of the enthusiasm generated by the publication of nearly twenty minutes of gameplay of this RPG so special. But the good news is that some lucky little ones will have the opportunity to discover this ambitious project as early as November, as the Japanese studio is starting its beta-test phases. The good news of the day is that From Software has decided to organize a beta to test the capacities of its servers. These tests will be open to players who have registered on the next site, and will take place from November 12 to 15. These will only be relatively short sessions of 3 hours of play, once a day. To participate, register on the link at the bottom of the page, and you will have a chance to be drawn when the time comes. Once selected, players will be able to explore the eerie and mysterious world of Elden Ring for the first time on the following dates and times:
- Session 1: 12 p.m. – 3 p.m., November 12, 2021 (French time)
- Session 2: 4 a.m. – 7 a.m., November 13, 2021 (French time)
- Session 3: 8 p.m. – 11 p.m., November 13, 2021 (French time)
- Session 4: 12 p.m. – 3 p.m., November 14, 2021 (French time)
- Session 5: 4 a.m. – 7 a.m., November 15, 2021 (French time)
Elden Ring also received an official release date but unfortunately it was pushed back a month. We will have to wait for the February 25, 2022 before you can get your hands on the long-awaited RPG. A decision that the From Software teams have justified in the tweet below. Seasoned veterans, lovers of challenges, where intrepid neophytes will then be able to embark on the Underground, and attempt to defeat the descendants of Marika in order to reunite the fragments of Elden’s circle. An adventure on a path that promises to be winding and very perilous. Good news, Bandai Namco has also made the choice to release Elden Ring on older generation consoles. It will therefore be released on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and PC thus making no jealous.

It’s hard not to recognize the peculiar touch of Hidetaka Miyazaki (no family link with Hayao Miyazaki, the founder of Ghibli studios) during these three minutes. A universe as dark as it is mysterious, an enigmatic scenario, characters and monsters with so … varied attractions. It is indeed the work of the Japanese director, at the origin of Demon’s Souls, Dark Souls, Bloodborne and Sekiro. And this time, he can count on a collaboration with none other than George RR Martin, the author behind the Game of Thrones saga. In these first images, although they remain mysterious, we could see a few elements that distinguish Elden Ring from its predecessors. First, the world seems relatively more open, and less linear than in Dark Souls, for example. We could also see the player moving there on horseback, a horse that seems to be very particular because it seems to have the ability to materialize behind the player, and to jump over huge obstacles. Probably a cousin of the ibex.
As far as his story goes, Elden Ring takes place in a whole new universe, drawn from the imagination of none other than George RR Martin. Recently interviewed by the American newspaper WWTW, the author of Game of Throne confirmed his involvement in the project throughout its many years of development. He claimed to have shaped the universe of Elden Ring in detail in order to provide developers with a solid foundation for the development of their game. Given the complexity and originality of the universes that George RR Martin is capable of creating, we can expect high-flying storytelling. If we add that to the inventiveness and the graphic quality to which the From Software teams have accustomed us, Elden Ring may very quickly gain its place alongside the excellent Bloodborne, Demon’s Souls or Sekiro. Besides, George RR Martin himself said he was eager to discover the game. The story of Elden Ring is this:
“The Golden Order has been annihilated. Arise, Dazzling, and may grace guide your steps. Wield the power of the Circle of Elden. Become Lord of the Underground. In the Between- land where reigns queen Marika the Eternal, the Circle of Elden, vital source of the World Tree, was broken. Marika’s descendants, all demigods, claimed the shards of the Circle of Elden, also called major runes. Thus began the Shattering, a war emanating from the madness provoked by their newly acquired power. A war which sounded the renunciation of the Supreme Will. Thus will come the hour of the Shatterless, they who once denied the golden grace, and who were exiled from Underground You who perished and yet live, walk towards Underground, beyond the Sea of Mist, to stand before the Circle of Elden. And so in becoming Lord. “
