In Elden Ring you can start the Ranni Quest to get a secret achievement. You can find out how you can start the quest and what you have to do to reach Nokstella and Nokron in our guide.
Who is Ranni? She calls herself Ranni the Witch and she actually lives in a tower in the northwest of Liurnia, the second area. But you’ll meet her at the beginning at the church of Elleh if you didn’t miss her.
There she also gives you the Spirit Calling Bell to use the ashes of spirits to summon them and use them in battle.
After she hands you the bell, she disappears without a trace for the time being. But if you explore the country diligently, you will eventually find her in her tower. There you can swear allegiance and start your quest.
This quest is really worth it. Not only will you learn a lot about the story of Elden Ring, you will also be rewarded with one of the best weapons in the game at the end.
Elden Ring: List of all NPC quests, where to find them and how to complete them
So that you have the easiest possible time on the quest, you should equip yourself well. The currently best build in the game makes the bosses in particular easier and should therefore be played by you if you have difficulties.
A notice: The quest guide assumes that you have not yet completed any of the steps. There are some parts of the quest that can be skipped.
Ranni’s Quest “Age of the Stars” – This is how you can complete it
Where exactly can I find Ranni? Head to the Caria Estate in northwest Liurnia. On the way there you will also find the blacksmith Iji, from whom you can buy dark forge stones. You can already see the property uphill.
Speak to her there and she will give you the task of finding the infinite city called Nokron and recovering treasure there. To do this, you should first talk to other subordinates: Blaidd and Seluvis. Iji, the weaponsmith, is also Ranni’s helper, from whom you can get valuable quest information.
1. Find Blaidd the half-wolf in Siofra
If you have received the quest from Ranni, you must first speak to Blaidd, the half-wolf. He tells you that you can find him at the Siofra River.
The quickest way to Siofra is the well in the Limgrave Cloud Forest. Here you can find the entrance on the map:
You will find Blaidd if you push further into the town and find the Grace “Banks of the Siofra” there. From there, go to the cliff edge of the area and follow it until you come to a huge bridge pillar.
Blaidd should be standing at the foot of it, waiting for you. Talk to him and he will tell you that he can see Nokron high on the other side. Unfortunately, he can’t tell you how to get there either. Instead, you should now talk to Seluvis and Iji.
2. Speak to Master Iji
You can find the blacksmith here, north of the Raya Lucaria Academy. There Iji sits right behind the place of grace. Talk to him there and choose all possible dialogue options.
3. Get a letter of recommendation for Sellen
Now go to Seluvi’s tower, right next to Ranni’s tower. It is the southernmost of the 3 towers. Speak to him there about Nokron and he will direct you to a sorceress and give you a letter of recommendation. You may already know the sorceress: Sellen.
The sorceress is in the dungeon, at the ruins of the waypoint. We have already introduced it to you in our guide for aspiring magicians and sorcerers.
Talk to her and ask her about Nokron. She will tell you about Radahn, the Starfall Beast. This is one of the main bosses of Elden Ring, which you can find east of Limgrave, the starting area.
Now return to Blaidd and bring him up to date. He will now tell you about a festival he is heading to in Redmane Fortress.
4. Defeat Radahn and enter Nokron
This is where the difficult part begins: First you have to cross the castle. Since you spoke to Blaidd, you save yourself a disgusting boss fight with two opponents.
Once you have arrived in the courtyard of the fortress, rest at the place of grace and start the festival. Blaidd is already waiting for you, including some other participants. It turns out that the festival is actually a huge boss fight against Radahn.
There has never been a similar boss fight in any FromSoftware game. You can call on all of the festival’s participants to assist in the fight, but Radahn is an incredibly powerful enemy, so they are of limited help.
Here are some quick tips:
Alternatively, you can watch this video and go through everything step by step:
Radahn’s screen death now causes “the stars to fall from the sky”, or more precisely: a meteorite. It crashes into the ground right next to the cloud forest in Limgrave and opens an entrance to Nokron.
You can’t miss it, there are a number of boulders floating above the crater. Just head to the Place of Grace closest to the forest.
Now descend through the crater and you will find yourself in Nokron.
