Elden Ring has been on the market for almost two years and many Tainted have been waiting ever since to find out more information about the new DLC, Shadow of the Earth Tree. The wait is now over as the developers reveal the first trailer for the DLC today.
What kind of DLC is this? This is the first DLC “Shadow of the Erdtree” for Elden Ring. We speculated as early as 2023 when the DLC might appear, but the developers maintained their silence. No leaks or hints indicated when the DLC might appear. The question about the release of the Elden Ring DLC was only addressed in the FAQ from the parent company FromSoftware, but the answer left players disappointed and did not reveal a release period.
Despite the sparse information, the developers have now announced that they will publish the first gameplay video regarding the DLC. We’ll show you how you can be there for the reveal.

How can I watch? The reveal starts today, February 21st, at 4:00 p.m. German time, but the stream including preview starts at 3:30 p.m. The stream starts on YouTube at the following link:
According to the developers, the presentation will be 3 minutes long and offer multiple subtitle options. It is not known whether only raw gameplay footage or snippets of the story will be revealed.
However, it is interesting to mention here that the developers explicitly title the video as the “First Trailer” on x.com. So it could be that the expansion is so large that FromSoftware needs multiple trailers to reveal any new content or aspects of the DLC.
When is the release? Despite the announcement of the reveal, the developers still have not announced a release date for the “Shadow of the Erdtree” DLC. It remains to be seen whether a release date will be announced after the trailer, but until then we’ll have to be patient.
