Elden Ring is on the priority list

The company responsible for FromSoftware and Elden Ring seems to have high hopes even years after the game’s release.

Plans to significantly expand the game in the future bring to mind the thought of a more substantial expansion pack than expected. One of FromSoftware’s biggest and notable releases, Elden Ring is understandable why it’s considered a big deal.

Elden Ring’s anticipated DLC gets a lot of attention

News about Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC is still scarce, and there are many theories about what exactly the expansion will include. Looking back on FromSoftware’s history, it seems certain that something big and interesting is likely to come. However, all the details still remain a mystery. Kadokawa Corporation’s latest report may fuel this fire even more.

Kadokawa Corporation develops strategies to prioritize Elden Ring

Kadokawa, the parent company of FromSoftware, has released a term report that gives some hints about its future plans for Elden Ring. Another noteworthy statement was that Elden Ring’s sales were slowing, and Kadokawa and FromSoftware are planning to take “various measures” in the future to “maximize the lifetime value” of the game.

Presumably this refers to the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. Quite intriguing, however, is that Elden Ring’s DLC is even ahead of the release date of Armored Core 6, a completely different FromSoft title. Armored Core 6 has been awaited for a long time, and considering that the game will be released on August 25, it is quite intriguing that it is placed under Elden Ring in Elden Ring’s period report.

There is also the question of what measures Kadokawa will take to maximize the lifetime value of Elden Ring. Elden Ring hasn’t released any DLC yet, just a few major content updates. It’s unclear if more DLC is on the way for Elden Ring. It also remains unclear whether the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC itself is important enough to attract more players over the long term.
