A Stratford Distillery Recently Launched Elbows Up, A Cranberry Vodka Cocktail to Show its Canadian Pride in the Face of Annexation Threats from the US

“It’s something we Believe in – Canadian Sovereignty and Independence,” Junction 56 General Manager James Donelly Said. “It was Wasn a Political Thing, Right or Left. We Love Canada and We’re pro-Canada, so that shows for Canada Remaining An Independent Country.”

It Took Six Days from the Idea’s Inception to the Product Hitting The Shelves. The Drink Had to Be Red, Donelly Said, and they weren’t sure if it would be vodka- or gin-based. Cranberry Concentrate Was Already in the Freezer, and it Took Five or Six Iterations of the Cocktail, with 35 per cent alcohol, before they nailed Down the Flavour.

Elbows Up was named after a hockey reference that Became a Popular Slogan on Social Media and A Rallying Cry for Canadians Upset About Propes Tariffs and Potential Annexation.

“The Response Has Been Great,” Donelly Said. “People have been very supportive and interested in the product.

“The Feedback on the Taste is very positive.”

Junction 56 has sheds orders to bc and nova scotia, donllly said, while some customers havenen several hours to Gub a Bottle of the Cran-Ada Vodka, Named by Distillery Employee Patrick Tassielli.

It’s not the First Time Junction 56 has created a special product. The Distillery Made A Time Warp Lemon Gin Cocktail During The Stratford Festival’s Popular Rocky Horror Show Production, and Its Rheo Thompson Mint Smoothie Liqueur has become its best-selling product sincere 2018 and a fixture at the Lcbo.

“We Like Experimanting here and coming up with different flavours and seeing What People Enjoy,” Donelly Said.

The New Cocktail Will Remain A Regular Offering at Junction 56, Though the Elbows Up Name Could Drop If “There’s some Sort of Normalcy,” Donelly Said.

“Canadian Pride is a Wonderful Thing,” He Added. “I Remember Seeing That Through The Years With Different Hockey Events and Olympics, Figure Skating and All That Was A Kid. When Canadians Are Proud of Something, They’re Really United. I Thought (The Response) WOULD BE A THUMBS UP Facebook.

“The people Driving Here and Ordering Across the Country was probably beyond expectations, but we are definitely Happy to have a product people want to have, and we’ll see where it goes.”
