Elanga hero in full swing: “Just being cool”

Elanga’s goal was his first in the Premier League for Nottingham following his move from Manchester United.

Just like in the previous matches, the national team striker had to start on the bench, but was replaced in extra time in the first half after an injury.

Just three minutes into the second half, he struck.

Elanga was played forward by Taiwo Awoniyi, pulled away from Chelsea’s centre-backs and coolly slotted the ball past goalkeeper Robert Sanchez and next to the right post.

— I saw the surface and went in there. I knew where the target was so it was just a matter of being cool. I had it under control and knew what to do, says Elanga to Viaplay.

Now awaits Sweden’s important European Championship qualifiers with the must-win matches against Estonia away (September 9) and Austria at home (September 12).

— There are two important matches that we must win. We have a good team and hopefully we can win the two games and keep the EC hunt going, says Elanga.

The win was Nottingham’s second of the season and a rare away win. Forest were the worst away team in the Premier League last season, picking up just one away win.

Dejan Kulusevski’s Tottenham had a playhouse away to Burnley and won by a whopping 5-2. Son Heung-Min was the big match winner with a hat trick.

Norwegian goal machine Erling Braut Haaland also hit a hat-trick as the Premier League leaders crushed Fulham 5-1.
