Eight vehicles taken out of service during OPP – MTO safety blitz inspection

Vehicles were taken off the road and one driver received a three-day license suspension during a recent Norfolk OPP and Ministry of Transportation commercial vehicle safety inspection blitz.

Provincial police and transportation ministry officials inspected 18 commercial vehicles on March 27. The inspections resulted in 10 charges for a range of infractions and eight vehicles were taken out of service due to defects.

A driver received a three-day license suspension for having a blood-alcohol concentration above zero, Norfolk OPP said in a statement released Thursday.

The inspection blitz is a way of enhancing and promoting road safety, provincial police said.
