The alarm came in at 01.37 on the night of Monday.
A boat had run aground with a group of people who must have been very drunk according to the police.
– We had a patrol on site who heard the people when they came ashore. According to all of them, the person who drove the boat must have left in a rubber raft to seek help, so we cannot prove a crime and cannot proceed with any investigation into drunkenness at sea.
The accident must have occurred some distance from shore. Both a boat from the Sea Rescue and a helicopter must have been part of the rescue operation.
