Celebrated by Muslims all over the world, Eid-al-Fitr started to be celebrated by Muslims in Russia as well. On the first day of the holiday, Russian President Vladimir Putin published a message for Muslims living in Russia, as every year.
Pointing out that the Muslims in the country made a great contribution to international peace during the war between Russia and Ukraine, Putin said, “This traditional important holiday, which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan for every Muslim, symbolizes devotion to humanitarian ideals, piety and compassion. Muslims in Russia, committed to enduring spiritual values, make a valuable contribution to the strengthening of international peace and harmony in society, the preservation of cultural diversity and the defense of the priority interests of our country.
