What is a substitution reservoir or mega-basin?
The farmers’ collectives that promote them call them “substitute reserves”. The “Bassines Non Merci” collective, which brings together opponents of these projects in France, chose “Méga-bassines”. The two terms designate the same construction, artificial, generally built on the plain, to temporarily store water.
