Eetu Nousiainen returned to the World Cup after a serious injury. He first tinted in the qualifying and also reached the World Cup points.
Eetu Nousiainen Immediately took points when he returned to the World Ski Jumping World Cup after almost eleven months of break. Nousiainen was 26th in Sapporo’s Suurmäki Japan.
Nousiainen was already ninth in the qualifier on Friday. On Saturday, Nousiainen was the only Finn in the top 30 in the second round.
After the first round, Nousiainen was 24th.
In the second round, he dropped a couple of places on the scoreboard. After his second round, he spent an international TV broadcast around the world in Finnish.
– Points, points! Nousiainen announced directly to the TV cameras.
After the race, Nousiainen described the day in the race in colorfully.
– It was quite tense. The first round went to useless steam. The same thing was in the second round. You have to be happy that such jumps are enough for points, Nousiainen said.
Nousiainen was seriously injured in March last year on Planica’s iconic air hill. He came down safely, but after a moment of slipping, the low -fit downward slope grabbed Nousiainen’s ski. He crashed. The knee front ligament ripped.
Nousiainen’s knee was operated in April last year. In February this year, he returned to ski jumping competitions a couple of weeks ago. Nousiainen was the eighth of the second-level tour of the ski jump in the Continental Cup in Lillehammer. Last weekend, Nousiainen was fifth at the Continental Cup at the Continental Cup in Slovenia.
