Eemnes will soon have the longest serving mayor in the country

Henri Lenferink is now the longest-serving mayor in the country. Lenferink (66) recently asked the king to resign. After twenty years as mayor of Leiden, he thought it was enough and will retire on 1 September. Mayor Hans Gaillard of Son en Breugel, until recently number two, said goodbye at the beginning of this month. With this, Van Benthem, with his 18-year employment in Eemnes, is on course to take over the lead after the summer holidays.
