Eemil Helander placed sixth in the competition held in Norway on Friday evening.
Finland Eemil Helander ran his 3,000m record and season’s domestic best time of 7:54.85 on Friday night in Norway. He finished sixth Eritrean winner Senay Fissehatsionin (7.48,29) in a paced race.
Helander is satisfied with how the condition is improving before the competitions at the end of the summer.
– There have been downward competitions here, and I wanted an upward performance. I started calmly, and after that the last ton came well and brought a new record, the 23-year-old Jyväskylä Kenttäurheilijode runner said in the press release.
Helander competes both on smooth track distances and in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. In the near future, both will be on the program before the international match against Sweden in Helsinki in the last week of August.
– I will run in two GP races next. Next week in Oulu the 3,000-meter smooth and after that the steeplechase in Tampere, he opened his plans.
