Edward af Sillén’s mockery of Melodifestivalen: “No one is safe”

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

During the fourth part of the Melodifestivalen 2023, the stage was stormed below Lorraine’s performance of the song “Tattoo”. Since then, the program has received a lot of criticism about both. Partly about the security but also the presenters Farah Abadi35, and Jesper Rönndahls43, handling of the event.

The presenters have received a lot of criticism during this year’s Melodifestivalen. One reason has been the script. Pekka Heino61, wrote a text on Instagram about their thoughts and opinions about Farah and Jesper’s effort and in the comment section the script is mentioned as a big problem…

Edward af Sillén is missing in Melodifestivalen

Edward of Sillén, 40, was the director and screenwriter for Melodifestivalen for many years and has made a big impression on television viewers. In Pekka’s comment field, comments about the absence of Edward in this year’s season abound.

But instead of being the director and screenwriter for Melodifestivalen, Edward is for the set “Peter Pan goes to hell”. In the so-called farce, among other things, Pernilla wahlgren55, and David Batra, 50, part of the ensemble and offers crazy entertainment. Edward tells in an interview with Folk o folk that the performance challenges the actors physically.

– The actors throw themselves out and risk their lives just to make the audience laugh, he says in the interview.

During a performance last week of “Peter Pan Goes to Hell,” an extra detail was delivered in the script. Namely, in the middle of a scene, “climate activists” appeared and stormed the stage.

Enter three people with a banner that says “Restore the wetlands”. Edward posts the incident on Twitter and points out the seriousness of the situation, with a joking tone.

However, the activists have microphones and are clearly employed by the theater. In the comments section, we see Edward responding to comments with laughing emojis.

Even though Edward has left Melodifestivalen behind, he still manages to joke about the competition’s biggest incident. Possibly he misses Mello as much as the viewers miss him.
