Edvin Anger’s nice greeting to the Swedish people – after the national team’s completely crazy moves in training: “A sick feeling”

The national team took an odd approach to training.
Edvin Anger then thanks the Swedish people for their support.
– It made the hours easier, he says.

The national skiing team is in full preparation for the coming season, and they are certainly not on the lazy side. It is during this period that the stars train the hardest, and in the last few days they have made progress to say the least. Literally.

Paying tribute to the Swedish people

The skiers started the Sunday at Falun, and were going down towards Södertälje, outside Stockholm. But instead of getting there by car, train or plane, they chose to do it the way they do best: Skis. There’s no snow, of course, so the skiing stars put on their roller skis – and began their descent into the country. It was a total of 30 miles, and they arrived on Wednesday.

And it was a grip that was appreciated by the riders. Calle Halfvarsson said that “it was good”, William Poromaa that “it was lovely”, but perhaps the happiest of all was Edvin Anger. Not least for the support you received along the way.

– There were people out and watching and that made it a lot more fun to train. When you didn’t know where you were going, you just had to look where the people were standing and cheering, says Anger to Aftonbladet.

“A sick feeling”

Edvin Anger believes that he is not used to similar support during training, and that it says a lot about Sweden’s warm feelings for cross-country skiing.

– It was quite a sick feeling when it was training, to feel how big it is in Sweden with skiing. It really shows at a camp like this. It made the hours easier and it was a lot of fun to drive. It was really fun.

The skiers also treated themselves in the evenings, after the tough sessions. It’s not quite the time to throw a fall party, but William Poromaa believes that it was “some bira”.

– It is difficult to ski fast if you have to party all the time. During the “off season” you can treat yourself a little, but when you enter the training year you have to be careful. It is important to stay focused.
