Edvin Anger will now seriously challenge the world elite in the World Cup.
Then the young Swede sticks his chin out with a cocky pass to ski king Johannes Hösflot.
– Nobody really knows how Kläbo is this year, he says to Radiosporten.
Young Edwin Anger got his big break last season and exceeded many expectations. Admittedly, his very first skiing WC was a big disappointment, but at the World Cup the 21-year-old made a big impression.
Anger is cocky
The Swedish sprint specialist saved three fourth places during the World Cup season and finished by winning a relay after the WC. Now he has gotten a taste of the podium and will take further steps to make up with the world elite seriously.

As early as Friday, it’s time for the long-awaited World Cup premiere, and then Anger will show the whole skiing world that he can be counted on this winter.
– Yes, we’ll see. I’ll do my best and then we’ll see what’s enough. It is always special with the first competition, but I hope that I will be able to participate and fight up there, he tells Radiosporten.
Myhlback poked
The big favorite is of course called Johannes Kläbo but after a messy pre-season and a fight with the Norwegian national team, Anger sees his chance. Edvin admits ahead of the new season that he wants to step on top of the podium and look down on Kläbo in a cocky display.
– No one really knows how Kläbo is this year, because he has not participated in competitions and trained himself. It will be interesting to see, but I think I should be able to be in decent shape. We’ll see!, says the young Swede in the interview.

But one who is not allowed to show off at the World Cup this weekend is the 17-year-old big talent Alvar Myhlback, who was poked from the squad to Ruka. Now Anger is speaking out for the first time about the decision for his teammate – and he understands it.
– Alvar is still so young, only 17 years old, that he has many years left in him. Then he didn’t have a very strong prologue and that speaks for it. If he makes such a prologue here, he won’t go any further, says Edvin to the radio channel.
– It is good that he can compete a little more in Idre and gain more experience. He still hasn’t done that many traditional races yet.
