Education Ministry allocates PNRR resources to strengthen STEM subjects and

(Finance) – The Minister of Education Joseph Vallettara signed two decrees of allocation of PNRR resources intended for training of students, teachers and school staff for a total amount of 1.2 billion.

“It is an important investment that will give a strong boost to our program to enhance the talents of each student, fight against early school leaving and strengthen teacher training”, declared the Minister Vallettaraadding “we have the tools for increasingly inclusive and innovative teaching that gives everyone a real opportunity. This is the revolution of merit that inspires me”.

With the first decree they are intended 600 million for the making of educational, training and orientation courses aimed at promote and develop STEM skills, digital and innovation and linguistic ones, with particular attention to ensuring equal opportunities and gender equality. The resources can also be used for extra-curricular orientation activities on scientific subjects. Another 150 million they were intended for teacher training on multilingualism with the creation of language and methodology training courses lasting one year. For both entries, one 40 percent share of the allocated resources will be reserved for schools in the southern regions.

In the second decree have been allocated 450 million intended for training of all school staff in service. In particular, it will be for teachers of courses relating to the digital transition in support of the School Plan 4.0, for ATA staff of courses on the digitization of administrative procedures, and for school managers on educational and digital innovation.
