There was joy in the classrooms at the physics department in Lund when Anne L’Huillier found out that she had been awarded this year’s Nobel Prize in Physics, in the middle of a lecture.
Invest in research
Her research in attosecond physics has led to her becoming Lund University’s first Nobel laureate.
– It is absolutely fantastic as a Lundabo to experience this, says Mats Persson, who also studied at Lund University.
He calls the Nobel Prize a win in the “Champions League for research” and a reason to invest in research.
– We will prioritize the best researchers, that they get the opportunity to do research in Sweden, he says.
